The EEB was a small-circulation periodical that was edited and published by R L Gunther from Hobart, Tasmania between 1965 and 1973 with the by-line "common sense electronics". Long before useful home computers it was produced using typewriters, Gestetner stencils and off-set printing aided by photographic reduction - all assembled by hand. Many of the technical items were at the state of the art for the day utilising devices that were only just emerging from the development laboratories. This was only a few years after the very first transistors became available, and only months after SCRs, integrated circuits and similar experimental devices came into private hands, yet all featured in those pages. Contributions came from many sources and some quirky items added significantly to the appeal of the enterprise. It was mostly paid for by subscription and its use as an advertising platform.

The surviving copies of EEB have been reproduced digitally and assembled as annual PDF files. Pagination within the files is optimised as far as possible as the originals contain counting errors. The original master-set was lost in a house fire some years ago and this digitisation project involves some compromises. Underlined Volume numbers are links to the on-line PDF files. Right-click on a link and you should have a menu that gives you the option to open or save the file so that you can open it with a PDF viewer. Double click on a link and it may open the file in a window.

It is with sadness that I note that R L Gunther - also known as Elaine Mary Foster in later life - passed away at the end of 2014.
